A LAUNDRY ASSET

Considerable research and experiment have been made in recent years to evolve a drying cabinet which would give no trouble in operation, would not scq,rch the clothes, and would be speedy and economical in operation, states an exchange. The outcome is a cabinet which uses a small gas burner at the bottom. The clothes are hung on racks, and warm air passes through them and out by means of a flue at the top. The dryer stands 6ft high, and has sufficient line space to accommodate 36 bath towels or a fair-size family wash. It enables residents of flats to keep a regular wash day, and drying can be done at any time, irrespective of the weather. The appliance is independent of clothes pegs, and it protects the washing from floating smuts or dirt. Drying is effected in privacy indoors, and the clothing comes out fresh and without any suspicion of mustiness.
