CLAY PIGEON SHOOT

PALMERSTON }.., This Day.

The North Island-West Coast cham-* pionship clay pigeon shoot, which is being held under the auspices of the Palmerston North Gun Club, commenced yesterday. There was a large and representative field.

The principal event of the day was the. £50 handicap, which .was dividend between F. Farmer (Palmerston North) and R. E. Cuthbertson (Wanganui), who' each secured a possible of 21 birds..

The next important event was the £25 handicap, which was won outright by M. Kearins, the president of the Palmerston North Gun Club.
