CARILLON RECITAL

A recital, by automatic player, will be given on the National War Memorial Carillon, Buckle Street, tomorrow afternoon, commencing at 3 o'clock. A fine of £1, in default seven days' imprisonment, was imposed upon Carl Mafeking Hertz, an engineer, aged 39, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with disorderly behaviour while drunk. On a charge of wilfully damaging a gas heater valued at 25s he was convicted and ordefed to make good the damage.

John Bourne Drake, a labourer, aged 24, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today charged with assaulting L. W. Guilford, was convicted and sentenced to seven days' imprisonment with hard labour.

A fine of 10s, in default 48 nouns' imprisonment, -was imposed upon Harold Lowe, a watersider, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with a second statutory offence of drunkenness.
