YACHTING PICNIC

Decorated yachts made a colourful spectacle at Worser Bay yesterday, when about 10 of these craft took part in the combined yacht clubs' picnic, held as part of the Physical Fitness Week programme. .About 30 keelers and 40 centreboarders were present. Th& main event was the tug-of-war held between the Evans Bay Yacht and Motor-Boat Club and the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club, which was won by the Evans Bay Club. In the afternoon a strong north-westerly sprang up, and a number of the centreboarders had to stay at Scorching Bay for the night.
