NEW ARMY OATH

MOSCOW, January 4,

The text of the new oath which is to be taken by the entire Soviet army on its twenty-first anniversary, February 23, is as follows:—

"I solemnly pledge myself to be an honest, courageous, and vigilant warrior, to. guard military and State secrets, and obey without objection all military regulations and orders, v

"I further pledge myself to safeguard the people's property and to come out whenever called on to defend my Soviet Fatherland, not sparing my blood or my very life for the achievement of complete victory over our enemies. If I violate this pledge let the people's hatred and scorn be my lot"
