VERSATILE LADY.
1 Marjorie Lane, a young American actress who was once described by James Montgomery Flagg, noted American artist, as "the most attractive girl in Hollywood's younger set," is in private the wife of Brian Donlevy, also a prominent film star. Miss Lane has a unique calling: she lends her voice to stars. That is lo say, she sings for stars who cannot sing. To be the singing voice of stars she is a great tribute to the extraordinary vocal rtalents of Mrs. Donlevy; she has never been seen on the screen. Among the stars she has sung for she numbers the late Jean Harlpw, Isabel Jewell, Ann Dvorak, and Eleanor Powell. The living she makes by loaning her attractive voice is a considerable one. She is only one of a number who do so; among these others are Virginia Verrill, the voice of Andrea Leeds in "Goldwyn Follies"; Grace Saxon, who has doubled for Claire Trevor, Joan Davis, Peggy Conklin, Judith Barrett, etc. These singers are hired on a contract basis.
