The average price of gold during 1937 was 142s 7£d per oz, but it had reached 149s 4d on March 11, 1935. The official price of gold touched 150s per oz on November 26, 1938, and at that time made a new record, yesterday exceeded by sd. During the European crisis at the end of September, 1938,' the price reached 147s (September 28)* but throughout October.the range was from 144s 5d (October 6) to 146s lOd (October 14); for November it was from 145s ll£d (November 8) to 150s (November 26). The range in Decem-, ber was 148s (December 6) to 149s 7d (December 31).
