CORSICAN LOYALTY

ASSURANCE AT BASTIA

AJACCIO, January 3. At Bastia, the second city of Corsica, M. Daladier received a wild welcome from 30,000 persons when he stepped ashore. Later, in a speech in the theatre, the Mayor, recalling that 40,000 Corsicans gave their lives in the Great War, said\ that Corsica was ready for even greater sacrifices if France was threatened. M. Daladier replied: "We will remain free. France prefers death to servitude."
