BOTH RECEIVE CONCUSSION

AUCKLAND, January 2. When they were struck by a motorcar at the entrance to the Ellerslie racecourse early yesterday afternoon, injuries were suffered by Mrs. Barbara O'Keefe, aged 43, of 31 Roberts Street, Ellerslie, and her daughter, Valeric O'Keefe, aged five. Mrs. O'Keefe received concussion and abrasions, while her daughter suffered concussion and lacerations to the scalp. Both were taken to the hospital in a St. John ambulance. The condition of Mrs. O'Keefe last night was not serious, but that of the child was reported to be serious.
