Admiral and Mrs. F. A. Sommerville, Portsmouth, EngJand, yho resided for several years in Wellington some time ago when the Admiral was connected with the New Zealand Navy Office, will •arrive at Auckland by the Rimutaka, which is due on January 12. They are on a holiday trip and will visit Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Spurrier, jun., ] Leyland, Lancashire, England, and \ their daughters, the Misses Pamela and Patricia Spurrier, are visiting Wellington and are staying at the Hotel Waterloo. Mrs. G. Richardson, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs. C. E. Richardson, Heretaunga. Dr. Beatrice Nelson, Palmerston North, is visiting relatives in Hawke's Bay and will stay with her mother, Mrs. Lionel Nelson, at Paekakariki before leaving on January 24 for Australia where she will take up a position as house surgeon at Townsville Hospital, Queensland. Dr. Julius Stone, who will take up the position of Professor of Law at the Auckland University College on March 9, will be accompanied by his wife and son, Michael, states "The Post's" correspondent writing from London in December. Mrs. Stone was formerly Miss Reca Lieberman. She studied at Harvard and Leeds Universities, and became a dental surgeon. She married Dr. Stone at Leeds in 1934. Mrs. D. A. Crombie, Newman Terrace, and her «Lster-in-law, Mrs. J. Crombie, formerly of Nairobi, Kenya, have returned to WeHingon after a camping holiday in the North Island. After a tour of the South Island, Mrs. J. Crombie will leave to live at Singapore. Miss Helen Bretherton, Kelburn, has returned from a holiday with her parents in the South Island. Mrs. A. Draper, Palmerston North, ls spending a holiday in Wellington and is staying at the Hotel Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Benjamin, Wellington, with their son, are spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wallace, Christchurch. Miss Margaret Oates left Wellington yesterday by the Awatea for Australia, where she intends studying all types of dancing with the leading teachers in Sydney and Melbourne. Mr. and Mrs. David McNaughton, Karori, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Goggin, Fendalton,- Christchurch. Miss E. Thompson, Wellington, is staying with Mrs. Arthur Dale, Albury, Timaru. Mrs. Hulton, Oriental Bay, is spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs. L. H. C. Smith, New Plymouth. Lady Pitt-Taylor (England), Mrs. E. C. O'Connor (Auckland), Mrs. H. B. Blyth (Dannevirke), Mrs. L. Johnstone (Auckland), Miss Y. Hogan and Miss N. Donnella-i (Greymouth), Miss R. Chapman (Auckland) are guests at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mrs. W. Harley Slack and Miss Althea Slack, Christchurch, will leave next week to visit Wellington. Miss Joan Murchison, Lake, Coleridge, will arrive at Wellington fcext Wednesday, and will leave by the Rangitane for England, where her marriage will take place. Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Peacock, Hataitai, are spending the holidays at Raumati South. Mr. and Mrs. Norton Gibsons and their small daughter, of Palnteiston North, are their guests. Miss Zena Rose, Christchurch, arrived at Wellington yesterday for a holiday visit. Mrs. E. Jeffries, who has been spending a holiday with her mother-in-law, Mrs. C. Jeffries, New Plymouth, arrived at Wellington on Monday and left yesterday by the Awatea for Sydney, where she will make her future home. Miss Gwen Harper Nixon, Wellington, is staying with her sister, Miss Billie Harper Nixon, Carterton.
