The official price of gold touched 150s per oz on November 26, 1938, and at that time made a new record, now exceeded by id. During the European crisis at the end of September, 1938, the price reached 147s (September 28), but throughout October the range was from 144s 5d (October 6) to 146s lOd (October 14); for November it was from 145s 11 _d (November 8) to 150s (November 26). The range in December was 148s (December 6) to 149s 7d (December 31).
