The Minister of Health (the Hon. P. Fraser), who is spending a holiday in the Rotorua district, is expected to return to Wellington on Friday. Mr. Eric E. Wahlquist, touring manager for Nicola the Great, will leave Wellington for the South Island tonight to make arrangements for the South Island tour. Mr. Alan Victor Penberthy Ford, barrister and solicitor, of Rotorua, who has been appointed Resident Agent at Aitutaki, Cook Islands Administration, will leave for Rarotonga at an early date to take up his duties. Mr. Ford has nad wide experience of Native Land Court advocacy and practice. He joined the Native Department in 1913 and later entered the legal office of Messrs. Earl and Kent, barristers and solicitors, of Auckland, specialising in Native Land Court practice. Later he practised in Rotorua for 20 years as a Native land conveyancing specialist. In sport Mr. Ford has been prominent. He represented Auckland University College and also country districts at Rugby, and has been a senior oarsman of St. George's Rowing Club. He has been club captain of the Rotorua Golf Club on more than one occasion and is a life member of that club. Mr. Ford sailed for a number of years in keel yachts and was a member of the winning crew of the Waione, the first winner of the ocean race for the Tauranga Gold Cup and Pennant. Mr. W. O. Campbell, general manager of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Limited, with headquarters in Christchurch, returned to th.c Dominion by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's motor-vessel Waipawa after a six months' visit to Britain. Mr. Campbell arrived at Wellington by train yesterday from Auckland. Delegates from New Zealand who are to attend the science congress in Australia include, amongst others. Dr. E. Kidson, Director of Meteorological Services, Dr, P. Marshall, and Professor R. Speight, all of whom left by the Awatea. Dr. Charles Morice returned to Auckland on Monday by the Waipawa after spending five months in Britain, and arrived at Wellington this morning by the Limited express. Dr. B. d'Acunzo, Consul for Italy in New Zealand, left Wellington last night* hy the Awatea for a jshort visit to Sydney.; Mr. T. E. James left Wellington last night by the Awatea fojr Syidney.
