CZECH CONCESSION

PRESSURE FROM HUNGARY

(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.) (Received January 4, 1.5 p.m.) PRAGUE, January 3. The Czechs, under pressure from Hungary, have granted an amnesty to Dr. Brodie, former Premier of Ruthenia. and are also withdrawing their opposition to the use of the title Carpathian Ukraine for Ruthenia. A cablegram received from Prague on October 28 stated: —Dr. Brodie was arrested after the suspension of his Parliamentary immunity on charges of high treason and corruption. It is revealed that he did not resign, but was dismissed by the Czech Central Government on an allegation that he accepted bribes from Hungary to support a plebiscite in Ruthenia.
