James Brown, aged 17, a seaman, appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today on a charge of deserting from the German shi£ Naumburg at Wellington in November, 1937, 40. which he pleaded guilty. The Magistrate said that Brown would be remanded from week to week until he could be deported on the steamer Gera, which is to leave Lyttelton about February 5.
