It used to assemble every year for a banquet, and members were regarded as heroes and yarn-spinrie-s to be listened to with great respect in their native villages-I—seasoned veterans who had faced storms of shot and shelL The last survivor, a lusty octogenarian, passed out a few years ago Originally the Liechtenstein League consisted of the entire army, 58 men. whioh went to the aid of Austria when Prussia attacked her in 1866 rhere were no casualties But some prying historian, accordins to a French report has discovered that Austria happened to 'mislay' the Liechtenstein army in a barracks at the, rear, far from the fighting area.
