AUCKLAND WOMEN'S CHANCE
ELLERSLIE MAKES A CHANGE
It seems wonderful to read of bright sunshine "and a light breeze that tempered the heat" —news which comes from Auckland concerning the second day of the races at Ellerslie. It was a day when summer frocks could really be worn happily, and many women were glad indeed to leave off their winter wraps, and for once enjoy the rays of the sun. It was a day when picture hats and frocks of organdie, chiffon, and georgette were, a delight to see, especially with such a setting as the lawns and beautiful old trees afforded to enhance their effect, states the "New Zealand Herald." One of the outstanding features of the dressing was the return of white to favour. This was seen in white linen suits, short white beautifully-cut jackets, heavy white -crepe de chine frocks and wide-brimmed straw hats. Worn with a black skirt the short
