WOMEN TERRITORIALS
The officers of the newly-formed Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service number 620. They include working women, daughters of army officers, and members of the Women's Legion, both single and married. They work from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and attend lectures as well as drills. Their marching stride is 27in —against the 30in laid down for soldiers.
The girls of Downe House School, in Berkshire, are talcing up rifle shooting seriously. There are several crack shots at the school, and bull's-eyes are no rarity.
white jacket looked extremely effective, especially when the accessories' complemented the colour scheme. Black, sometimes without any relieving colour and at other times showing just a touch of white, was, also popular and looked very attractivjl" All the many shades of blue, -ranging from navy to the palest pastel shade, made their appearance either singly or in combination with white or dusky pink in frocks or suits and were usually completed with a navy hat or one in the dominant shade.
It will be a long time before the little matching or contrasting coatee, will go out of favour, since it can be worn on such a variety of occasions, and yesterday it gave the finishing touch to many charming frocks in chiffon or heavy crepe.
The picture hat came into its own yesterday, and on so sunny a day its shade was most welcome. The long garden party frock can no longer claim it as its own special property, as it looks equally well with the trim tailored frocks and suits of crepe or georgette that are now so popular. Accessories such as gloves, shoes, handbags, and neck finishings were in most cases carefully chosen, completing a wellplanned dress ensemble.
