CLUB FLYING CURTAILED

The unusually high winds experienced at Rongotai airport during the present month have caused a curtailment of flying by members of the Wellington Aero Cluu.

According to the chart register, on no day of the month up to the present has the wind remained under a force of 30 miles per hour, and, as far as can be" estimated, on nearly half the days the wind reached a force of 40 miles per hour or more. At 6.30 on the morning of the fifth day of the month one gust of wind^reached the phenomenal force of 89 miles per hour.

An official /at the airport informed "The Post" this morning that he could remember no such difficult month, as far as winds were concerned, during the past three years* ' -
