SOCIAL PARTY

A Christmas, social was held recently by the members of the Wesley Ladies' Guild. There > was a good attendance of members and Mrs. Israel presided. A good programme, arranged by Mrs. Janson, was given by the members/of the guild, and included a piano soio by' Mrs. Rowe, a song by Mrs. Janson, a duet by Mrs. Childs and Mrs. Janson, and recitations by Miss Richards, Miss Henry, and Mrs. Crease. A dainty afternoon tea w ; as served.

ilt was stated that £11 10s was given away for Christmas cheer, as follows:— £4 to Wesley Church; £2, Aro Street Mission; £2, Maori Mission; £1 10s, Maori Church at Ruahina; £1, Mental Hospital, Porirua; £1, Masterton Orphanage. A ? happy afternoon was closed with a prayer by the Rev. P. Paris.
