ALLEGED THEFT FROM

HOTEL

A remand until Saturday was granted in the Magistrate's Court today in the case in which a 20-year-old labourer and ship's fireman, whose name was ordered by Messrs. H. W. Short arid A. J. Longmore, J.P.S, t6 be suppressed, was charged with stealing a diamond ring valued at £20 and 7s 6d in cash from G. H. Bassant.

Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle said that the accused was arrested by Detective P;. Smeaton yesterday afternoon.. , It was alleged that he h.ad committed ,the theft from a. bedroom in the\ Hotel Waterloo.
