A HUMANITARIAN QUESTION

(To the Editor.)

Sir.—As Belgium is supporting 2000 Jewish refugee children, I respectively suggest that the Government consider the question of instructing the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London to have £500 worth of New Zealand produce sent to these refugees in Belgium, where our honey, butter, cheese, and apples would be welcome. New Zealand should certainly open her doors to a quota of these refugees. If each child in our State schools gave one penny to a Jewish children relief fund £1000 would be raised which would be an acceptable Christmas gift. —I am, etc.,, A NEW ZEALANDER.
