WELLINGTON CLUB
There was quite a good attendance of members and friends at the Thorndon Baths on Monday, when the Wellington Swimming Club held its club night. A pleasing feature was the good attendance of women members.
Results of events were as follows:—
Ladies' 33 l-3yds.—Miss J. McKechnie, 1; Miss M. Freeman, 2; Miss G. Petley, 3.
Men's 33 l-3yds.—First heat: S. Guppy (breaststroke), 1; I. Robertson (breaststroke), 2; D. Binnie, 3. Second heat: L. King, 1; D. Mason, 2; O. Vaughan, 3. Final: D. Binnie, 1; D. Mason, 2; S. Guppy, 3. The following members have been selected to play polo:— B grade, v. Hataitai, Thursday (9 p.m.): V. Gotleib, C. Gotleib, W. Gascoyne, R. Woodcock, D. Russell, F. Staub, W Chamberlain. C grade, Thursday (7.40 p.m.): D. Blick, O. Vaughan, J. Simmonds, I. Robertson, N. Thomas, D. Pilalis, J. A grade, v. Hutt, Tuesday (7.45 p.m.).
