DISPUTE TO GO TO COWRT
Only^partial agreement was reached ilbetween the employers of general SabQurers sand the unions^ in ith'e jdispute. :heard before the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. S. Ritchie) at Wellington over ,the* terms of a ?ae.w .Dominioja award which the unions are seeking. The conciliation proceedings ended late yesterday afternoon after it had been decided to :refer .the case to the Arbitration Court.
The parties agreed that the /hours oiSj work, should be 40 ;a wfee*k. to be worked aignt ihours -a. ..dajy ;ctei;w.een 7.3Q a.m. and 5 -p.m. (on Moixctay to .^Fridayj. inclusive. /A-greement was .ralso a^eache fi i ion the provisipns :Sor overtime, pa^■ment of meal :money, payment ;6f especial rates for work .under specif! Ed jhot ;and cold conditions, provision of accommodation wheEe necessary, trrjjiy--elling <and ithe conditions : to '•apply to fcertain :spe.ci&ed classes , .of \wbrk.
