SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY

The "break up" party of the Wellington Shakespeare Society marked the end of a most successful year. The occasion was a particularly happy one, and during the evening an excellent programme was presented.

Songs were given by Mrs. Wiltshire and Mr. L. J. Hopkins, a violin solo by Miss Ruth Reid, and pianoforte solos by Mrs. Gibson-Foster. Elocutionary items were contributed by Mrs. Mar-tyn-Williams, Mrs. Bagnall, and Miss Sybil Williams. Two string quartet movements from Hadyn were played by Messrs. R. Davies and C. L. Logan (violins), Dr. Keys (viola), Mr. J. S. Lomas (cello). A real Christmas flavour was given by the singing of carols in which everyone joined. Miss Betty Turner was soloist, and Mrs. GibsonFoster and Dr. Keys accompanists.
