The annual meeting of the Brooklyn branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Methodist Schoolroom, Mrs. Reed presiding over a good attendance of members. The secretary, Mrs. Cresswell, reported a very successful year, with several new activities, and a substantial increase in membership. A satisfactory balance-sheet was presented by Mrs. Gittings. The Cradle Roll, in charge of Mrs. Butler, showed a steady increase. Mrs. Reed, president, was presented with a box of flowers and fruit, and several members spoke in appreciation of her year's work, and also of the services of Mrs. Butler who is retiring from office after five years as superintendent of the Cradle Roll Department. The other officers received bouquets and were thanked for their work.
The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs. Reed; vicepresidents, Mesdames Sawden, Baudinet, and Brewer; correspondence secretary, Mrs. Prussing; recording secretary, Mrs. Jordan; treasurer, Mrs. Gittings; assistant, Mrs. Cracknell; cradle roll superintendent, Mrs. Pearce; assistant, Mrs. Ashworth; white ribbon superintendent, Mrs. Pickering; temperance fact, Mrs. Dudley; evangelistic superintendent, Mrs. Raine; representative hospital auxiliary, Mrs. Pearson.
A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Press. Afternoon tea was served by the Methodist ladies.
