NORTHLAND SOCIETY
BENCRUACHAN FOR PICTON
The December monthly meeting of the Northland Horticultural Society was held recently and was presided over by Mr. G. S. Nicoll. It wat agreed that the repent rose show had been one of the best yet held and that the roses, cut flowers, and decorative work had been of high standard and well staged. An outstanding feature of the show had been the display of Northland School work, and it was decided to convey the society's anpre-'^-tion of the continuance of this fin« effort. The financial position oi -ie society is excellent and the membership constitutes a record. The monthly competition comprised roses, sweet peas, Iceland poppies, and pansies, which made a colourful display.
