SEASONAL DEMAND
BANK FIDUCIARY NOTE ISSUE

LONDON, December 6.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir John Simon, announced in the House of Commons that he had given directions at the request of the Bank of England that, as from December 6, the fiduciary note issue, which was reduced from £260,000,000 to £200,000,000 in 1936, should be temporarily raised to £230,000,000 to meet seasonal demands.
