J. C. Williamson, Ltd., Sydney, reports a net profit of £26,470 for the year ended .June 30, against £27,461 In the previous year. In addition, £4022, being surplus for the year realised on sale of the company's: shareholding in Theatre Royal Pty. Co., Ltd., has been transferred to Theatre Royal shares reserve account. The preference dividend required £10,200, and ordinary dividends totalling 6 per cent, absorbed £22,500 from special reserve account. As a result of the arrangement with Australian and New Zealand Theatres, Ltd., the board decided to write off to reserve account an amount of £187,668 representing the lost assets, including leaseholds and good will. The directors contemplate a complete revaluation of the assets with a view to a reconstruction of the balance-sheet.
