SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.

A series of minor depressions moving along the southern side of an anticyclone in the North Tasman Sea, has continued to cross New Zealand. Barometers have risen slightly over the Dominion but are still very low to the east and have fallen sharply over Tasmania. Southwesterly to westerly winds have predominated and have been strong in places. Although the weather has been mainly fair, showers or light rain have occured fairly generally, the majority being associated with a, change to more southerly winds, which set in in the south yesterday morning, and had advanced to beyond New Plymouth and Napier by this morning. Temperatures have been mild in the North and cool in the South.
