RIFLE SHOOTING
HAUTERE VISIT LEVIN
On Saturday the Levin Rifle Club had a visit from the Hautere Club.
The day wks fine and a very enjoyable day was spent with a three-range match.
Taking the best eight totals from those competing, the Hautere Club won the match by three points, the result being in doubt right to the end, the aggregate baing 778 and 775. .
Although the wind was changeable it could be handled at 300 and 500 yards but at 600 yards it spoilt some promising totals. F. Freeman (Hautere) and S. Lumsden (Levin) returned the splendid totals of 102. R. Catley had the distinction of getting two possibles.
There were five possibles scored and seven 345, and in Hautere's total there were no scores under 30.
