AUCKLAND TEAM
THE SOUTHERN TOUR

AUCKLAND, December 6.
The sole selector to the Auckland Cricket Association, Mr. H. Duncan, has chosen the following players to represent Auckland on the southern tour during the Christmas holidays:—
A. J. Postles (Eden), captain; G. L. Weir (Eden), C. A. Snedden (Eden), P. E. Whitelaw (Parnell), W. M. Wallace (Parnell), H. G. Vivian (Parnell), V. Scott (V.M.C.A.), H. T. Pearson (Middlemore), A. M. Matheson (University), C. K. Jackman (University), J. Cowie (Grafton), V. S. Sale (North Shore), twelfth man. The team will meet Canterbury at Lancaster Park, play starting on December 24. The Otago match will be begun at Carisbrook on December 31. All Plunket Shield matches are limited to four days.
Auckland is the present holder of the trophy and its fixture against Wellington will be played at Eden 3ark in the first week in February. The touring team will play a one-day match against South Canterbury in Timaru on December 29.
Herr Hitler has decreed that all shirts in Germany shall be two inches shorter; as 30,000,000 shirts are made each year several million yards at cloth will be saved.
