Peerless's name was omitted in error from the final payments for the Great Northern Derby, and she may yet go north for the two final days at Ellerslie after racing in the Manawatu Cup, as there is over a week between these races. . ~ Wairarapa and Marton nominations are not due till next Wednesday. Francis Drake is on the easy list at present and will not be fulfilling his Auckland Cup engagement. Quadroon has been accorded a nomination for the Manawatu Cup, but it is understood that he will contest the Auckland Cup unless there is a likelihood of the going at Ellerslie being hard. _~ ~ The holiday plans for Tidewaiter and Surmount are apparently not yet definite, as both horses were entered for events at the Manawatu Meeting on Monday evening. The Auckland jockeys H. N. Wiggins, L. Dulieu, and R. W. McTavish will be riding at the Woodville Jockey Club's Summer Meeting on Saturday and Monday. H. N. Wiggins's mounts will include Submission, Dynasty, Entail, and Icing. It was reported after Feildmg that Little Dorritt and Chere Amie were likely to be off the scene for some time owing to troulbes, but they are both listed among the Manawatu entries. Dainty Sue, who will be domg her future racing in open class, has been engaged for middle-distance events at the Manawatu Meeting. According to her owner, Mr. C. Boyle, .she has done well since her success at the Wellington Meeting in October. Baran, who was injured in the boat while returning from Riccarton, is back in work at Hastings, and, though he has been withdrawn from Ellerslie engagements, including " the Foal Stakes he has been nominated for the Manawatu Meeting.
