COUNTRY STILL SOUND
(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.")
DUNEDIN, This Day.
The "Otago Daily Times" says:— "There can only be speculation as to the reactions to the policy which the Government has decided to pursue,) It will be necessary that it shall be stated in greater detail, before it can be profitably examined. In the meantime it is sufficient to say that some action of the kind that is to be taken had become inevitable. It seems desirable, however, to add that the community, which has been prepared for it by various references of late to the decline in the sterling funds, must not allow itself to become apprehensive, in consequence, of the financial soundness of the Dominion. The country is fortunately well able to withstand the shock that may accompany the policy of-monetary control that is in contemplation."
