IMPORTS IN TRANSIT
"I don't think we should be unduly concerned until we know there is cause for concern," said a representative of a well-known motor-car company. "The important regulations merely give the Minister the power necessary to put control into operation, but no one knows what commodities will be affected or whether there will be any differentiation between commodities. It is impossible, therefore, to make conclusive comment until we know how each industry is to be affected. Nevertheless, details cannot be withheld too long, because all importers have goods leaving different parts of the world for New Zealand today and tomorrow and so on, and if there is a possibility of those goods being refused entry when they arrive it will be, to say the least, very inconvenient."
