The fourball best-ball bogey competition played at Shandon on Saturday resulted in a win for C. A. Turnbull and R. H. Williamson with a card of 5 up. The runners-up were C E. Hollis and J. O'Callaghan, 4 up. The medal competition was won by A. Hood, 81, 12—69. Other good cards were handed in by N. Millard, 82, 11— 71, and W. R. Tustin, 76, 3—73. The second fourball best-ball bogey event played in heavy rain was won by J. Hume and T. Jones, all square. Following are the results of the second round for the Christmas hamper:—
H. A. Baldwin beat R. A. Comerford, 5 and 3; M. C. Smith beat C. A. Turnbull, 3 and 2; W. H. Dillicar beat C. F. Wirth, 5 and 3; J. S. Park beat A. J. Robson, 4 and 2.
First round results for the Summer Cup competition are as follows:—
J. Young beat M. Fossey at the twentieth; G. G. Hodgkins beat H. L. Evans at the nineteenth; J. J. Evans beat C. Storry by default; A. Hood beat A. G. Edey, 6 and 5; B. V-. Brownlee beat F. M. Martin by default; R. H. Williamson beat S. A. Gleadow, 4 and 2; A S. Murie beat F. H. Mullins by default; S. Wilmshurst beat H. L. Baldwin by default.
