MOTHERS' UNION PARTY
St. Jude's branch of the Mothers' Union held a "break-up" party in the Parish Hall recently. About 50 members and visitors were present. After the service in church, which was conducted by the Vicar (the Rev. F. A. Tooley), the members adjourned to the hall. Mrs. Holland spoke briefly about the part the Mothers' Union was to take in connection with the Cathedral Fund.
A short musical programme had been arranged by Mrs. Collins, and the following contributed delightful items: —
Mesdames A. Dunn and P. Jackson (songs and duets), Mrs. McNabb (elocutionary items). Each performer was presented with a shoulder spray, as also were Mesdames Holland, Chisholm, and Lobb and officers of the Mothers' Union, including the enrolling member for St. Cuthbert's Branch (Mrs. Robinson). These flowers and most of the decorations in the hall were presented and arranged by Mrs. Blenkinsop. After afternoon tea had been served the meeting closed with the exchanging of Christmas wishes and the Doxology.
