MOTOR-CYCLE RACING

The weather was dull and threatening for the opening meeting of the Ixion Motor-cycle Club's beach racing season, held on the Waikanae Beach yesterday. In winning the first five events, R. Lawton made the best showing of the day. P. Hall, H. Go'odyer, and R. Soloman were also prominent. The following officials were in charge of the meeting:—Messrs. R. Poutawera, J. Oarrell, T. Baker, T. Bowe, F. Bently, J. Bently, J. Crooks, and F. Miles. The results were as follows:— Two miles (500 cc), rolling start: R. Lawton, 1; P. Hall, 2; H. Goodyer, 3.
