POPULAR DANCE

STAR BOATING CLUB

More than the usual quota crowded the Star Boating Club on Saturday night for another of its ever-popu-lar dances. Space in the main clubroom overlooking the harbour was taxed to the utmost, and-during such dances as the "Lambeth Walk" it was totally inadequate. The overflow danced in the biUiard-rooih or stood in the hallway and at the doors to watch.

The weather was hot for dancing, so the dressing was more informal than usual. Members of the committee wore white flannels and club blazers, and there were many other variations. Dirndl frocks were worn by some of the girls, but for the main part, afternoon frocks predominated. Evening frocks worn by a large number, and were mainly of a flimsy or floral variety.
