INTER-HOUSE MATCH
An inter-house cricket match between the Colonial Carrying Company and C. Smith, Ltd., over the weekendresulted in a draw, the match being abandoned owing tp rain. Scores: Colonial Carrying Co. 211 (Williams 80, Boyton 64, Holz 24; Smith four for 61, Marr three for 38). C. Smith, Ltd., 29 for three wickets (Kemp 27; Montgomery two for 10).
A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed upon Frederick Arthur Carlyle Kingan, a labourer, aged 64, who appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with a fourth statutory offence of drunkenness. Francis Patrick • Mulligan, a labourer, aged 43, who was charged with a second statutory offence of drunkenness, was convicted and fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. 1 C. W. Price and Co., 91 Dixon Street, will sell carpets and household furniture in the mart tomorrow, commencing at 1.30 p.m. On Wednesday at 10.30 a.m. they will sell household furniture, carpets, etc., at 83 Owen Street.
