SIR THOMAS CALLENDER

LONDON, December 4. The- death has " occurred of Sir Thomas Octavius Callender.

Sir Thomas Octavius Callender was born in Glasgow in 1855 and educated at Greenock, London, and in France. He was a member of Calender's Cable and Construction Co. from its foundation and was deputy-chairman and managing director, as well as a director of ( related enterprises and power corporations. He married in 1885 Miss Bessie Pinnock, and had one son. He was knighted in 1918.
