RECRUITING RALLY
COMMUNISTS HOWLED DOWN
SYDNEY, December 2
The opening of the Federal Government's recruiting rally in Martin Place during the city lunch hour today was marked by angry scenes in which leading Communists figured while distributing their own handbills, which the majority of the crowd regarded as offensive.
Heated arguments occurred and Communist speakers were howled down. The police were compelled to disperse noisy groups.
