KAPARA'S TRIALS

The motorship Kapara, built by Henry Robb, Ltd., for Richardson and Co., Ltd., Port Ahuriri, Napier, completed her trials on the Firth of Forth recently, when a mean speed of 12.86 knots over the measured mile was obtained, and manoeuvring tests were successfully carried out. The Kapara has a length of 190 ft, breadth 35ft 6in, depth 21ft 3in, and deadweight capacity of about 950 tons. She is fitted with Polar Atlas Diesel engines totalling 1280 b.h.p.
