PLANS-FOR MAJORITY
(Special from "Hurry On.")
NEW PLYMOUTH, December 2
H. Dulieu decided against taking any of his team to Otaki but expects to have several racing at Woodville next week. Dulieu has a big team in work, and the necessary placing is quite a problem at times. Glenvane was schooled over four hurdles on Thursday, giving a good display. He was a little disappointing at Riccarton, but came through his racing well and should pay expenses when the company is less select.
Gold Petal displayed his usual speed at Feilding but stopped badly at the finish. It would seem that he will require careful placing to pay his way. Though Namara failed to earn any stake-money at Feilding he ran two good races. He has suffered no harm as a result of his recent efforts and will probably be seen in action over a middle distance during the holidays. When Light Comedy pulled up lame after the Kiwitea Handicap on the opening day at Feilding a breakdown was feared. However, she only ricked herself and is already making good progress towards recovery, but she is not likely to race during the holiday meetings.
Majority proved his class when he won a double at Ellerslie, finishing like a champion under his big weight on the second day. He was not nominated for the Railway Handicap but will probably be entered for the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas Meeting, as his owner is a committeeman of the club.
