WEIGHT—TAYLOR,

Orange blossom from a Silverstream garden, and peony roses decorated the Church of Christ, Vivian Street, recently, when the marriage of Helen Margaret, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Taylor, Wellington, and Alan Hercules, third son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Wright, Brooklyn, was solemnised by Pastor A. G. Saunders. B.A. The bridegroom is a well-known All Black, having represented New Zealand in Rugby during the year, and is a provincial representative.

: The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a gown of cream satin which featured a long circular train edged with a dainty frill of accordionpleating. The long sleeves were cuffed with a similar frill, which gave an unusual finish to the long panel which fell from waist to hemline in the front of the gown. The draped neckline was finished at either side with flat cream satin flowers, which continued in a circle to the back of the frock, the bodice featuring a row of small, self r covered buttons to the waist. The veil, which fell from a coronet of orange blossom, was lent by Mrs. Maurice Graham, of Hamilton. Made

of fine net, it formed a second train, and was appliqued in satin , flowers. The bride's bouquet was of pink carnations, roses, watsonias, asparagus! and maidenhair fern. The bride's sister, Mrs. W. W. Roddick, Auckland, was mktron of honour, Miss.Betty McKenzie and Miss Nancy Alexander (cousin of the bridegroom) being "bridesmaids. Their full-skirted frocks were of delphinium blue Swiss organdie and were/sashed in matching silk velvet. An unusual finish to the ruched bodices were given by the off-the-shoulder necklines. Their bouquets of pink roses, carnations, watsonias, and spitrea contrasted with the j floral topknots which they wore in their hair. The 'maids preceded the j bride down the aisle. Mr. Donald, Alexander was best man, and "Messrs. Max and Ross Wright groomsmen. During the signing of the register, Mrs. A. G. Saunders gave a verse specially written by her for1 the occasion. Cvn leaving the church, horseshoes w/ere presented to the bride by Mrs. A. Paton. The reception was held at ■ the Southern Collcdge studio, where Mr. and Mrs. Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Wright received the guests. The bride's mother wore a ,gown of black printed satin, with a matching coat, and hat to-tone, and Mrs.-Wright's ensemble was of navy blue crepe.. The studio was decorated with bowls of seasonal flowers, and yellow and black 'streamers. When Mr. and Mrs. Alan Wright left, the bride wore a brown model frock with a matching hat, • find;

Wearing a beautiful nolia Chantilly lace in

gown of mageaf design, and

a lace-edged tulle veil caught with a halo of orange blossom, the bride looked charming as she entered the church with her father. Her frock was modelled with an Empire bodice, a heart-shaped neckline finished in front with a spray of orange blossom, and a long fully gored skirt with a circular train. She wore a string of pearls, which gave an artistic finish to her ensemble. Her bouquet was of lilies, sweet peas, and roses.

She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss Jean Ball, and a little flower girl, Miss Lorraine Lewis. The former wore a frock of Tahitian rose georgette designed with a heartshaped neckline, an Empire bodice, and a long fully gorsd skirt ( with a slight train, and short bolero jacket with puff sleeves in matching, taffeta. On her head was a liny ruched pink cap which held in place an oval scolloped veil. She carried a bouquet of roses and sweet peas in pink tonings.

A long-frilled frock of bud green tinsel georgette was worn by the flower-girl with a silver sash, a halo of roses, and silver sandals. She carried a dainty posy of "-pink flowers.

Mr. J. Lyle was best man. The reception was held in Le Grand

Cafe. The tables were prettily decorated wiih, sweet peas to tone with the bridesmaid's frock, while a white wedding-bell hung over the places occupied by the bride and bridegroom. The usual toasts were honoured during the wedding breakfast, and pianoforte music was rendered by Mrs. Winnie Thomson. Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood received the guests, the latter wearing a smart model gown of Lido blue crepe de chine and lace, a navy blue hat trimmed with flat velvet flowers in shades of pink. Her bouquet was of pink flowers, which matched her shoulder spray. The bridegroom's mother wore an attractive frock of navy blue sheer printed in white, and, a navy hat, and

carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers. When the bride and bridegroom left by car on a tour of the North Island, Mrs. Priday travelled in a smartly tailored pinstripe navy costume, worn with a cream georgette blouse, stons marten furs, a gift from the bridegroom, and other accessories to match.

Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Priday will make their future home in Gisborne. ,
