MEAT IN LONDON

LITTLE INTEREST IN N.Z. LAMB

Little interest is being taken by the London market in.the ; remaining small stocks of old season's New Zealand lamb in view of substantial arrivals of new season's Australian 1 and South American, says the weekly cable received by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. In the mutton market wethers are meeting with better inquiry, with lightweights a shade firmer. Ewes are still selling slowly. There is a good demand for frozen beef at unchanged prices. Chilled beef is meeting with good demand, hindquarters being weaker and fores firmer. New Zealand porker pigs are firmer in anticipation of the Christmas demand, and baconer pigs are nominal, spot stocks being light. Trade in boneless bobby veal is slow. The board advises that the following are the rulm.j prices of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday. Chilled beef prices are averages of the week. All prices are on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market. New Zealand and Australian frozen beef quotations are for second quality.
