CARTAGE ON WOOL
A prominent Wairarapa farmer who was in Wellington this morning had some comments to make about increased railway freights. The increased freights would mean additional costs to the fanning community, he said, and sheep farmers had already been discriminated against by the Railway 'Department. The freight on wool had been increased by 6s a ton from the beginning of the season, so wool growers were already meeting an additional cost on the wool shorn this season.
