LEVIN R.S.A.
(Special to the "Evening Post/)
LEVIN, This Day
At a special general meeting of the Levin branch of the R.S.A. Dr. S. J. Thompson was elected president of the :branch in succession to the late Major G. D. Hamilton. Special reference was made to the loss the branch had sustained through the death of the late president who had held the office for 15 years. The following resolution, proposed by Dr. Thompson and seconded by Dr. L. J. Hunter, was carried in silence: "That this special general meeting of returned soldiers places on record its appreciation of the services rendered over a period of 15 years by the late Major G. D. Hamilton; that it realises it has lost a leader who will be difficult to replace; and feels that the work he has done to further the interests and welfare of the association in this district will be an incentive and "inspiration to it in the future."
