Roland Laurence Hill, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today charged with the theft of a steel tape measure valued at £1 16s 6d, was convicted and admitted to probation for a period of six months.

One second offender for drunkenness, John Francis Wooster, was convicted and fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment, by Mr. W. H. Coy, J.P., in the Mount Cook Police Court today.
