"I HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE."

Such is the skill of the Wellington Repertory Theatre players that the audiences which are going nightly to the Town Hall Concert Chamber to see the local presentation of Priestley's play "I Have Been Here Before," are held enthralled from the rise to the fall of the curtain. Only upon sober reflection do they subsequently realise that the theme is a rather fanciful one. But the play is a good one and all its fine points are brought out by those taking part in it, with the result that the presentation is one of which even a professional company might be proud. There are only six players in the cast, but each is in the right role, and a meritorious performance of a difficult play is the result. Mr. G. H. A. Swan is a tower of strength to the production, and seldom, if ever, has he appeared to better advantage. Mr. C. Gardiner plays the part of the German professor, with his curious theory about the repetition of lives, to perfection, and Mr. J. V. Burton is excellent as the innkeeper. Miss Mollie Brown is delightfully spontaneous in her part, and Mrs. G. C. Boyes and Mr. Norman Hannah are no less admirable in their respective roles. The producer, Mr. W. S. Wauchop, has more than excelled himself on this occasion. "I Have Been Here Before" will be repeated tonight and finally tomorrow | evening.
