THE MERCURY'S PROGRESS

LONDON, October 7.
The seaplane Mercury, which is endeavouring to create a new record on a flight to Cape Town, has crossed the Sahara Desert and passed over Kano at 6.35 a.m., approximately 3000 miles from Dundee, Natal.
